What is OHN?
Occupational and environmental health nurses are an invaluable part of any organization. The practice has evolved from its origination in 1888 and now
includes: disease management, environmental health, and emergency and disaster preparedness. The focus is on providing a safe and healthy work environment
by preventing illness and injury due to work-related and environmental hazards.
Occupational health nurses are registered nurses and often obtain Masters degrees and occupational and environmental health nursing certification. This
experience is used to focus on the individual's health for the benefit of the business. For more information about occupational health nurses, contact the
American Association of Occupational Health Nurses, Inc. at (800) 241-8014 or
